It really all begin in late 2016 when I was off work after having had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands.
During my recuperation, I met with a friend at The Sussex pub in London’s Covent Garden, and through conversation we discussed what each of us was watching on TV.
I said that I was watching a great series called Californication, starring David Duchovny of The X-Files fame, which, if you don’t know, is about a successful writer enjoying the spoils of his labour.
I also happened to mention that I had begun a project some ten years earlier that was regrettably never finished, and possibly now lost forever. My friend then suggested that maybe I should begin a new project. Now, this got me thinking, and within a day I had a complete story arc, and ten days later I had over three hundred pages that would eventually become the semi-autobiographical Settling the Score.
As my writing progressed, and being a huge superhero and sci-fi geek, loving the Marvel, DC, and Star Wars franchises, I fulfilled an ambition in creating an original superhero in my Heart of a Lion saga.
I also suffer, sometimes overwhelmingly, with anxiety, and I find that my writing is a perfect distraction when it comes to keeping that anxious mind distracted.
Oh wow, you guys! I truly needed a book like this. It was so full of tense that I could not put it down but when I had to, I could not wait to pick it up again. From the minute you start this book you are drawn to it.
What a thrilling and an emotional read. A great read like all of his other books. Another can't put down book which keeps you guessing what will happen next. The writer shows the special love and bond between a father and daughter and the lengths a father would go to for her.
This is my first novel by this author, and it did not let me down! The cover of the book is striking, stirring thoughts of empathy, sadness, misery, and suffering.
